Sulmona, the most important center of the Peligna Valley, is famous for Ovid, Celestino V, its sweet confetti and garlic red. Beautiful city of ancient origins: the Pelignis, the Romans, the Swabians have left traces in the urban structure. Starting from the Basilica Cathedral of San Panfilo, dating back to the 8th century, we will continue to the center of Sulmona to admire the complex of the SS. Annunziatafounded in 1320 and built on a Roman domus.

The walk along Corso Ovidio will have some interesting stops: first stop Piazza XX Settembre, a place that will surprise the visitor with its rich curiosities.

In a few minutes, between one confetti shop and another, we will reach the Fontana del Vecchio and admire the splendid portal of San Francesco della Scarpa. Just a few more steps to reach one of the most important churches in the city, Santa Maria della Tomba. Finally we will arrive in the historic Piazza Garibaldi, one of the most beautiful and largest squares in Italy framed by the spectacular medieval aqueduct.

After an excellent lunch (optional on request) based on local dishes, the transfer to Pacentro will follow. Inserted in the splendid panorama of the Maiella National Park and among the "most beautiful villages in Italy", we will stroll through the medieval streets up to the oldest castle in Abruzzo, the Caldora Castle, which with its 24 m high towers. it overlooks the village and the valley. Pacentro is also famous for its spectacular "gypsy race", the legends regarding dragons, hidden treasures and witches.

Second Stop: Pacentro, we will walk through the medieval streets up to the Caldora castle with its 24m high towers. it overlooks the labyrinth of small and narrow medieval streets. We will see the church of Santa Maria della Misericordia from 1603, the church of San Marcello and the small church dedicated to Santa Maria di Loreto.
